＜Alaina Castillo Biography＞
Alaina Castillo was born on 11/16/1999 in Houston, Texas. She uploaded covers in High School and gained popularity on social media through ASMR style covers of Billie Eilish, gaining 850K followers.
She then caught the attention of Grammy-nominated producer and songwriter RØMANS (who has worked with Alicia Keys, John Legend, Demi Lovato, and Louis Capaldi), who produced and released her debut EP, antisocial butterfly, in late 2019. Just five months later, the group maintained its momentum with the release of the voicenotes EP and its Spanish-language version, mensajes de voz. In 2020, she was selected as the first U.S. artist to be featured in Spotify’s “RADAR” program, which promotes up-and-coming artists, and her total streams have already exceeded 150 million views. She was described in American media as “a singer that Generation Z can relate to” and has gained tremendous support from her generation, as she unapologetically expresses the sensitivity, relationship frustration, and obsession with romantic relationships that are unique to young people. In addition, she is a self-proclaimed big fan of Japanese culture, so much that her lyrics and music videos are influenced by Japanese culture.
On May 29, 2021, Alaina Castillo will release her first album, “parallel universe pt. 1,” which includes a collaboration track with a Japanese VTuber Kizuna AI.
